Art is powerful.

With more than 15 years of experience as a public artist and sculptor, I help developers, cities, and institutions commission public art that draws people in, creates memories, and cultivates culture.

Beth Nybeck, founder and principal of Beth Nybeck Public Art Consulting

I'm a sculptor and public artist with more than 15 years of experience creating large-scale work for civic, institutional, and public spaces.

I believe public art should awaken something in us. It should challenge, inspire, surprise, delight, and sometimes stop us in our tracks. At its best, public art transforms spaces, reflects the people who use them, creates shared memories, and helps shape the culture of a place. I also believe art should be accessible to everyone — and that the work becomes richer when people are invited into the process.

That belief is at the heart of my consulting practice. I know firsthand how complex and exhausting public art projects can be, from early visioning and community engagement to budgets, approvals, fabrication, engineering, and installation. My goal is to make that process clearer, more collaborative, and easier to navigate so that developers, cities, and institutions can bring more meaningful public art into the world.

Process

A clear path from vision to installation.

Every public art project is different, but the right process creates clarity from the start. I help shape the vision, align stakeholders, establish realistic budgets and timelines, guide artist selection, and carry the project through fabrication and installation.

    Listen

Site, stakeholders, constraints, and the story the place is already telling.

  3. 03

    Select

Open or invitational calls, panels, and artist contracting.

  4. 04

    Deliver

Fabrication, permits, install, dedication, and stewardship.
